Someone else told me I should check out Tap Room again. I'll need to go.
Not sure if I'm going to BR or not yet. What you doing? Heading there or staying in town?

Side note: I went to Whole Foods 3 times yesterday. Went to the bar for lunch and dinner. Cool little spot. Plus did some random shopping after.

Excited about the bar inside

Seems like a great idea until I figured out that if I am going to sit and have a beer, it won't be at a grocery store.

I'll be there sometime after noon. Will probably eat lunch in BR somewhere before heading to LSU.

For the last time. Read my post then respond. What doesn't make sense about my post. Is it stupid to try a beer before buying a 6 pack. Something tells me you love 10oz silver cans.

The problem with this argument is that Whole Foods doesn't try to be JUST a grocery store. It's a destination, an experience. Many people are not a fan of having to go grocery shopping. What if we make it fun to shop? Make it a place that people WANT to go to? Novel idea. Sounds like a good business plan.

I hear that they are going to be doing a lot of tastings and classes there. Should be quite a hit.

Another mad guy.

Just because you are up WF's arse, doesn't mean I want to sit and have a beer at a "destination experience" grocery store.

There is a bar area in the one here in Savannah. I'd prefer to go somewhere else for a beer.

Is it too hard to understand not everyone thinks this is for them?

I've sat and had a sandwich or a slice of pizza in WF many times. It's not just a grocery store. To call someone a loser for having a beer there is just stupidity.

You should go back and read Mr. Leblanc's lovely posts. I don't think he's a city guy. More of a honky tonker.

Guy may not have a very good idea of what Whole Foods is about. There are lots of areas for eating in or al fresco. I've often wished the BR location allowed beer consumption when I've had sushi there.

So you think that because someone is speaking positively about something then they must be up its arse?? I didnt see anything in his post that berated anyone for not liking it, but for some reason you think he's "mad." I think you need to lighten up. And by the way I've never been to a Whole Foods so im definitely not up their arse....

Bro it's all cool. Just because you don't want to do it doesn't mean we can't.
We all have our opinions.
I'll use Whole Foods as another spot for me to grab a drink or dinner or go to a tasting event or whatever.
You can not.
And we all continue to live our own lives.

I wish the Laffy location had a BBQ or Asian sit down thing like BR. But then again the food at the bar is pretty good.
I had the fish and chips last night and I can't lie, they were pretty great for fried fish and french fries.
The burger looks awesome too. And there's poutine. Who doesn't like a good poutine while drinking a beer???
Oh and 2 tv's in the bar area. It's honestly a really nice setup. You forget where you are while in there.

I bet there will be plenty of folks who go to WF with a significant other and aren't in the mood for shopping who will be glad to have that bar there while the SO shops.

I agree. That was my point.

I said I originally thought it was a good idea until I realized I didn't want to have a beer in a grocery store.

He took offense evidently with his "sounds like a great business plan, etc. etc."

I was simply saying at first I was excited until I realized I'd never have a beer there.

I love the idea

I do all the grocery shopping, so when I go I could grab a beer and relax for a bit while out

saying "hey babe, I have to grab some groceries, I'll be back in a bit" goes over much better than "hey babe, I'm going to go drink alone in a bar" with the wife
