they are all foreign now:
Bud= Belgium
Miller= south africa
Coors= Canada
I refuse to become a fig Boston Yankee (if those 2 words can be used in the same sentence) and drink Sam adams so I guess Ill stick to Abita and Shiner.
There a ton of good ole American Micro-breweries. I have been a lifer Bud heavy drinker, but a couple years ago I decided to explore the huge world of beer out there. I still love my Buds, but am so glad I discovered, Stouts, Porters, IPA's, etc.
BTW, Sam Adams makes a damn fine beer and its a shame Abita is all La. has to offer in that regard...............

Heiner Brau in Covington kicks Abita's arse.
I was drinking some of that yesterday at the Restaurant Association show.
I have had it a few times recently and it does not do much for me.

Not sure what the problem is? Still make Bud in the USA and many stockholders still here too!

That's how I feel about Abita.

I pretty much think every Abita Beer is terrible with the exception of the fall brew. I do like Budweiser and Bud Select but not so much Bud Light.
Boycotting a countries products may make some sense(i.e. Cuba, N. Korea) but boycotting a company because they were sold to a company not based in the USA is retarded. If you want to be patriotic do what I did and join the fricking Marine Corps.

I like most all beers and in no way a "beer snob".
I guess Turbo Dog isn't to bad, but I think the Abita Amber is probably the worst Amber out of the amber beers out and the Strawberry was all hype because that stuff was terrible. Pecan, Purple Haze, and the others have all been pretty bad.

if i do drink lite beer then its keystone but i usually stick to purple haze or amber

So last weekend I walk into a little bar in Seattle....8 different IPAs, 4 Porters, 4 Stouts, 8 Pale Ales all on tap. Not a Bud or Coors tap in the joint. I don't think they even had it in bottles.

Now that is what I call a bar. Unfortunatly I do have some friends that if ever put into a situation like that, they would probably start walking around in circles mumbling to themselves out of sheer confusion.

You do realize that AB will still have 12 breweries
in the USA? All of its products will still be made in the USA, all ingredients will still come from the USA. AB has been distributing Inbev products (Becks,Hoegraden,Lefft,Stella,)for the last 3 years.
There is more misinformation here than on the 6 o'clock news.
Coors & Miller are now the same company, Canadian owed......
now i feel better

i stopped drinking bud before they sold out unless if was free beer, can't ever turn that down. anyways picked up a six pack of southern pecan from lazy magnolia today in tupelo.

I drink bud only with crawfish, for some reason that just feels right. Don't touch it otherwise.
I do agree that sam adams is the best mass produced american beer.
I try and support local breweries and yes it is a shame that abita is all we have. I'm not a huge fan of most of Abita's beers, but thought the restoration ale was good stuff.
I went to minnesota a few weeks ago and thought there local brew (summit) was top noch.
