I haven't received my gift but was summoned to KY to take delivery of my bottles. I assume when one is called that marks the end of one's ambassadorship.

I received the makers gift this week and "my barrel" matured this year. I didn't realize the ambassadorship ended.

My barrel doesn't mature until sometime between Oct. 2020 and April 2022.

Has anyone actually gone up there after "their barrel" matured?

My buddy went in the summer. He said you can buy several bottles and dip your own wax. Seems like there is a special label.

My barrel matured this year as well. Everyone who went up for that LSU Kentucky game in 2007 and became an ambassador then, has had their barrel mature this year.

FYI for Houston area Bourbon fans....The Goody Liquor on Hwy 6 by Westoaks mall is showing online that they have 8 bottles of Elmer T Lee. Don't think I'm gonna make it by there so enjoy.

Also the one in Atascocita is showing they have 2, you might want to call first.

I don't know. It's a rye (which I don't like). I see it is part of the Calandro raffle next week.

This was just a FYI.

WhistlePig is a Rye grown in Canada and distilled in Vermont. I had a 10yr 100proof and a 11yr 110proof expression. The 11yr was good (not great) the 10yr sucked. Can't imagine spending +$100 on another bottle. I will be pissed if I get drawn for those bottles at Cal's

That Michter's 10 y/o Rye is damn good stuff. I have one bottle left that I've been ready to open. But I just picked up the AE Rye done in Rum casks, so that will have to suffice for now. Interested to see how it tastes since i've seen so many mixed reviews, while I know that Michters is solid.

Been checking out this thread and getting into bourbon. Have some blantons, willett, Jefferson's ocean.

Also got a bottle of Henry McKenna 10 yr single barrel, thoughts?

Also, I'm having trouble figuring where to get started and how to realistically grow my collection as I don't know where to begin.

I live in Bham so am stuck w ABC.. But go to BR and Nola frequently...

TIA
