I cracked open my Booker's Rye last night. I really liked it but I'm just not sure if I want to seek out another to bunker at the price it is going for. For those of you that have had a bottle open for a little while, have any of you noticed any change? Does it open up any more? Get better, worse, or stay the same with air time?

The Bookers opens up a bit but I still find that their is too much heat on it. I've let it sit for a couple of weeks and in trying it once more. If it hasn't opened up a bit more, I'm going to try to trade or sample it out. I have 3/4's left

Thanks. Like I said, I like it. I have to agree though, it is very hot. I'm a fan of barrel proofers and Booker's is an old favorite of mine. I think I just might prefer my ryes a little mellower. I will definitely finish the bottle but most pours will probably get a couple of ice cubes.

Hey Purp, I just got on the Bowman train with a Bowman Brothers. It was delicious. Had that sweet front end in the sip that a lot of the better 4 roses have. How was the John J? Why don't people talk this stuff up more? Way better than age stated EC12 ever was, in my opinion, at basically the same price

What are some very good INEXPENSIVE bourbons & scotches? I am talking under $30.

I kind of got hooked (thanks to you guys here) on the expensive stuff.

I bought a bottle of "1792 Small Batch". It is quite good, a little harsh.

Any others to try?

How about scotches, single malts?

Very delicious...smooth and lower proof. A little less complex than other 4 Roses.

2PD: this gets mixed reviews but I like it so far
