Agreed. Tom Fitmorris has a book called Lost Restaurants of New Orleans and it has stories and recipes from the restaurants.

It's very interesting to see how the menu's have changed and developed over the years.

Round The Corner was just awesome...and the place had ambience being on the Highland Road "hill".

Anybody remember a place on Veterans at Metairie Ct called Wimpy's? It opened after Popeye's started gaining steam.

Their chicken was very similar to Popeye's (closest I ever had) and they had hot tamales very similar to Manuel's. Their burger was good too. I remember a special sauce but no tomato.

I think it was a TCBY for a long time - now a nail salon.
