I've been a few times and know a few spots, but I haven't had much luck on craft beer spots.

Any worldly mavens still up?

Craft Beer Co. has several locations and a huge tap list.
Euston Tap is more quirky and less corporate than Craft Beer Co. but with an equally great tap list.

I like to hit the old school pubs.

Cittie of York and Ye Old Mitre are near each other in Holborn area. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is similar. All are old and good.

Wenlock Arms is my favorite. Is out in a neighborhood, and you'll likely be the only tourist. One of the locals was giving us the stink eye last time, but we survived. Lots of character, guys throwing darts, rolling their own cigs, and they have a wide beer selection. On the Camra list for good beer.

The Grenadier is tucked away on a back street over near Harrods. Cool little place with decent food. I met a local there who knew about LSU football.

The Prospect of Whitby is worth the trip out to it. Right on the Thames, with a nice outdoor seating area. Tubed and walked out to it, then took the bus back. The bus rides are cheap and good sight seeing opportunities,

Princess Louise has separate booth/seating areas that are neat and different.

Museum Tavern near the British Museum is always good. Karl Marx drank there. Look for the "Louisiana Burrito" on the menu.

When I've been there, the pubs I went to were a disappointment when it came to selection. I haven't been in 7 years though.
Reading the rest of the thread it appears selections have gotten better.

Agree on all the old pubs, Ships Tavern, The Blackfriars, Cheshire Cheese, etc...

For cocktails, The American Bar in the Savoy is top notch as is the Beaufort Bar downstairs.

Also really liked Mahikifor tiki bar.

There is a Brewdog pub in the Soho area. Tons of beer choices, and packed with young folks.

Walk across Tower Bridge and go to Bermondsey, aka Beermondsey....it is loaded with craft options. In fact, there's a stretch known as the Bermondsey Beer Mile: LINK
Hawkes, a cider maker, is located in Bermondsey. Hawkes makes my current favorite ginger beer: LINK
