The Tchoup's Rouses sucks arse. Everyone there should be fired with the exception of the seafood dept guy and the person who manages the cashier.

Only choice though. No aged prime.

Posted the same question a few weeks ago, and with the help of the FDB, went to Langensteins on Metairie Rd., and they had a wonderful selection. I got a really nice ribeye, cooked on on the BGE, and it was awesome.

However i cant see them having better meat because it's a newer store.

I can definitely see this. It may not be, "well, this store is not newer, so let's not have good meat." If corporate knows they have a certain clientele at a particular store, they may choose not to have higher quality items and also they may not have that store on the priority list for renovations.

Still have to weight it and tag it.

it was a joke, man.

I don't think ive ever seen dry aged steaks at my Rouses. I usually get choice grade meat, and it comes out great.

I don't shop at a newly renovated one. Napolean's original posts acted like you can't get great steaks at the older stores, but it looks like he has my Rouses as one of the better ones, and his is just shitty. Even though mine is an old Sav A Center too. Both of the ones i shop at, Clearview and Labarre.

Costco for a good deal. WF is a step above Rouses IMO, I usually buy dry aged strips and I find the WF to be more fat/meat more evenly distributed than Rouses.

We grill steaks 3-4 times a week. Here is how I see it...

Worth Paying extra:
Cleaver and Co
Rare cuts

Best for the money:
Langensteins (tomahawk ribeyes and prime pork chops especially..and jamila's merguez sausage in the freezer)
Dorignacs

Mexican cuts/marinated:
Ideal on Broad

I will pass unless in a bind: Rouses
