I 100% agree. But I've heard it's illegal in BR. That's why BJ's doesn't brew anything onsite other than root beer.

I am assuming that Old Metairie is not included in this.
not Old Metarie just on it's own, but if you lump Old Metairie into all of metry....sure, why not. even Old Metairie can't make up for red lobster.

gotcha. then that is fair.
i just when some folks think that great food = high end, and high end only.

Someone told me there is an old law that will not allow this. Could be wrong though.

I don't think so. They used to have one on Essen Lane that was I think part of a small chain. It was called "The Mill" or something like that. I remember they brewed their own beer in there.

Not sure about that. Phyllies Chili did it back in the mid 80's on Essen. They built the building where Copelands is. Phyllis Olinde owned it and her parents Ralph and Kacoo built it for her.
Might have been a brew pub after she had it. I can't remember but I do know they made their own beer and it was pretty good.
If I had to pick a chain off the top of my head I'd say Flying Saucer and not for the food.

That's the place I'm talking about. It was after Phillies Chili was in there. Did they brew their own beer first, though? I don't recall that.

Steak 'n Shake
Krystal (put it near LSU, keep it open late for those after-bar munchies)
Dairy Queen (Central doesn't count as BR, IMO)--I love their coffee/ice-cream milkshake thing.

Is it regarding water and waste disposal? Whatever the law is, it needs to be changed.

Dunkin Donuts.
I've yet to have even a decent donut in this city. The best come from Ruddock's bakery in Crowley. THE BEST.
The crap they serve in this city tastes like it was fried in old tractor grease. A carnival would be ashamed to serve a funnel cake that tastes like the donuts hear (and they get to leave town after they're done)
