This. Anything more and it is meatloaf.

Now, for toppings we do a smoked Gouda, arugula, bacon, chili sauce, garlic aioli, pickles that is pretty good. Fashioned after the Proper Burger from Duke's Grocery in DC.

I agree. I don't like the idea of mixing in egg and bread crumbs.

I like he idea of things like minced garlic and herbs though.

The best burgers are made on the flat top or cast iron, not grill imo

Same as the other smart people here.

Ground Beef, salt, pepper, plus good tomato, mustard mayo mix, crisp lettuce, dill pickles and a bun.

80/20 ground chuck
Pepper
Salt the outside.

Grill on high heat to get a nice char on the outside. Eat on a cheap white bun with whatever dressings you like.

I prefer subpar tomatoes and wilted lettuce.

Maybe, but I've been grilling some burgers lately that are pretty damned good. Salt, pepper, tonys, cavenders, and minced garlic. Wrap those bad boys in lettuce and I could eat them every day.

Not a surprise.

For burgers, good quality meat, s&p for me and very little handling. Put put whatever toppings you desire.
