I think Gloria's is better than Cyclone.

Gloria's is good but kind of expensive.

--The beef fajitas at Lupe Tortilla will change your life.
--El Patio offers overall tasty food, really can't go wrong there. But be warned - their blue margaritas can easily sedate an adult elephant....consume with care.
--Cyclone Anaya's also has pretty good food, for a while it was the "see and be seen" spot in Midtown before people went out to the clubs on weekends
--The Original Ninfa's on Navigation is clutch, must experience
--El Pueblito has one of the coolest outdoor eating experiences in ALL OF HOUSTON and the food is awesome with a dozen of cabanas and tons of palm trees; pics below

Man this thread actually has me missing Houston for the 1st time. But thankful I'm in New Orleans and tomorrow is a holiday not just another Monday.

You got your expensive places, moderately priced places, and your neighborhood dirt cheap places like Tia Maria's. All places that are better than anything in New Orleans.

Decent/good food. And an urban legend that their rita's have a bit of everclear in them. After 2 meals there with drinks I tend to believe there is something fishy.

I have never lived in Houston but have been going to the Navigation restaurant for over thirty years. My personal favorite.
Last week I got some really good fajitas at the Papasito's on FM 1960 near the airport.

In that area I like Lupe Tortilla or El Tiempo.

Ninfas on Navigation is the best Mexican food in Houston.
Los Tios has the best margaritas.

That's a bold statement. I'm guessing you've eating at every Mexican/Tex Mex joint in Houston.

I really enjoyed Ninfas on Navigation, and I'd say it's the best I've had since coming to Houston, but I'm not sure I'll be going back. There's just so many options.

Cyclone Anaya's when we want to go downtown. When we want to stay by the house and go cheap we stick to Gringo's.

You all gave me lots of choices. I leave Wednesday for Houston.

Some people will bash Pappasito's as a "Pappa's" establishment, but their chicken fajitas are the BEST.

Pappasito's should be the only answer. Beef Fajitas and Tres Leches!!

I wouldn't call it the only answer but it is high on my list of favorites. Their pulled pork tamales are outstanding !
Biggest drawback is the noise level.
