Last spring I had a dozen raw oysters, 4 pounds of boiled crawfish and a soft shell poboy at Village Inn. It's the only time of year all 3 of those seafoods are at their peak. Hard to beat.

ETA: Should've had a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer.

Toss up. My mom's Eye of Round Steak/rice/gravy or the stuffed squash in yogurt sauce at Abdalla's in Houston. Seriously I could eat the whole service pan of those squash without hesitation

When I worked in Mobile during the 80s, took my wife out to a place called "The Casbah." Had a WONDERFUL Beef Stroganoff I can still taste. Its long gone now, replaced first by a Krystal, now a Burger King. Double stake through its heart.

Some type of fish meal--can't remember the details but I remember it was the best meal I'd ever eaten. Everything from the cocktails to the dessert was the best.

Doubt it was that good. That place lasted maybe 2 years.

One of my favorites was takeaway from Fortnum & Mason in London, where I took the grub to nearby Green Park and rented a park deck chair and just enjoyed it all.

Got a totally excellent roast turkey sammich and a beautiful package of smoked salmon that I decided to crudely eat with my bare hands, and drank some kind of English pear soda to go with it. :jump1:

There used to be a traditional French restaurant in the Queen Elizabeth hotel in Montreal called "The Beaver Club".

The wife and I ate there 10 or more years ago. The food was amazing, perfectly executed French cuisine in all its glory. What made the experience all the better was the wait staff. Classically trained servers to include table service for such items as flambé items.

Sadly, they don't make places like that any more and such experiences are a dying art.
