Just got back from the grocery store. I think butchers use discretion and adjust their labeling based on what they have on any given day. This NY steak is barely passable to be sold as prime in my opinion. In any case it is 1.5 lbs and I will reverse sear it + baked potatoes with sour cream and cheddar + cabernet. Nice little Sunday.

I put a brisket in the smoker at 7am that is now resting. They have beans, potato salad, and cold slaw to go with it. I'm having beer.

Ribs rubbed with cayenne and cinnamon, basted with maple syrup. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers from our neighbors' garden
