Blueberry pancakes and decaf coffee.

Edited to add:

When I made it to the kitchen, the wife (MHNBPF) had made bacon and scrambled eggs to go with her pancakes.

Roast pork, baked sweet potato, cucumber & tomato salad, cooked in the new kitchen! Still incomplete without the gas range top working, double ovens uninstalled, but it counts if I put the crock pot on the new counters, right?

Sweet

Shut up.

Left over ice cream and guacamole, trying to get the taste of horny frog out of my mouth.

Them's some fancy counters you are exposing to us Miz Darla!

So close. I bet you will enjoy it when they finish.

Looks very nice at this stage.

Our syrup collection (established to please multiple grandkids)includes, Ms. Butterworth's, Hungry Jack, Blackburn's, karo for divinity and Cane Syrup harvested from local cane - run through a mill to harvest the juice and cooked off by some friends every fall.

It's a country guy kind of thing. I have a couple of quart cans left after Christmas Gifts and had that on my pancakes tonight in honor of my Dad's father who did this every fall during the depression. My Grandfather and his sons cooked their cane syrup in a galvanized pan over a wood fire (very difficult to do without scorching and ruining the batch). We did ours in a (four foot wide circular) custom fabricated pan over a carefully regulated propane fire. Still have to stir it carefully to remove the foam and trash and to keep it from scorching. The very tiniest bit of scorch will completely ruin a batch of syrup.

Made a sandwich from lunch leftovers. Hit the butcher block up on the wank yesterday for some of their new items. For dinner I had their new bacon cheese burger patty topped with their pepper jack chicken sausage and blue plate on fresh French bread. Tis was fat boy friendly.

Used to be a syrup mill headed toward the Trace going west down Hwy 16. They made great syrup.
