Thanks Dandy. He lived a great life and I just want to celebrate that. It is tough right now though.

Thanks. The toughest thing was telling my 15 year old son his grandfather died. They were very close.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My dad passed away last August. We can be thankful to have had them as long as we did. As bad as it is to lose a parent, it'd have been worse on them to lose us.

No doubt. At my rate, my mom might experience that.

I never took losing my grandparents well at all. I still think about them all the time, but that's a good thing because I have a lot of memories. So will your son. A blessing.

Yep. He is the oldest of my parent's grandchildren and was special to them. You already know the esteem I have for my dad's mom. She was my favorite person ever.

And, you have terrific memories of her. Your son will have to grieve, but he's going to have great memories. It's not the same as having them there longer, but its darn special. I think mine are special. Hell, I wouldn't have gotten to slop pigs, sheer sheep, brand cattle, pick cotton, ride horses or all that other farm girl stuff this city girl got to do without my grandmother. And, she was a city girl at heart.

(No comments, Mr. Balls. This is serious.)
