I actually had an IPA I enjoyed this weekend. Probably the first IPA I have liked. It was the DFH 60 minute. I would buy that again, if I ever see it.
Tried the 90 minute, and it was way too harsh for me.
I had those two side by side on Saturday... both myself and the gf liked the 90 Minute more, but the 60 is still a really good beer.

I've never hid my dislike for IPAs, but I'm also willing to try anything once and will never discount a beer based on style. The DFH 60 minute is a very well balanced beer for being an IPA. I was pleasantly surprised.

Everyone's palates are different, it's not a bad thing.
I had not had any of the 90-M in a few years, it can be hard to find in ATL, and lucked upon a 4-pack a few weeks ago at a wine store of all places. I am not a hard core hophead, either, but did enjoy the two 90-M I drank one-off, but it would never be a session type beer for me, either. Saving the last two for colder weather.

Don't do that. IPA's are meant to be enjoyed fresh. The hops will fade and you'll be left with a meh beer if you save it too long.

It has a high enough ABV to hold it, and is stored at 37 degrees, it's not going anywhere in 3 months.
ETA - 270 calories per 12 oz Could of had a Magnum dark chocolate bar with double caramel for 60 more calories.....

Found one in the back of my fridge the other day and had it. It wasn't nearly as good as I know it can be. Checked the bottle date, and it was 3/2, so it was right at 5 months old. As long as you have a fresh one, 3 months should be OK. But don't hang on to it much longer than that. I guess if you like more muted hops, it may be better for you to age it a bit.

That's the high ABV speaking.

Abv has nothing to do with the nose and hops. Hops start leaving after 3 months, good beers become average very quickly.

Which beers age well? I got the DR 12 and plan on aging the five I didn't drink for a year in my fridge cause that is what it said on the box. Is that a good plan?

Typically higher ABV maltier beers age well. Strong ales, stouts, quads, imperial browns, barelywines, ets...
I think that would be a good plan with DR#12. Drink a few when the next DR release comes out.

This. Probably what happened with that Wayerbacher Double Simcoe the other day.

I was wondering what was up with that.
It was slightly underwhelming.

Yep, I've had it before and it was great. That's why I asked my buddy to bring me one when he found it in Atlanta last month.

Tell her to run by fresh market. They had a ton last week (at least until I left).
It is going to become available outside of MS next month supposedly.
