Food was served family style: I was all very good, but the shark fin and crab meat soup was absolutely incredible. Do any restaurants serve this?

Reception was held in New Orleans East at the Crystal Palace. I have no idea who did the food, but I will be inquiring. Of all the dishes, the lobster was my least favorite due to it being a little dry. The salad, soup, quail, fried rice, steak, and scallops were very good.

Looks awesome wick. Went to a Viet wedding in Houston several years back. They had a similar 5 course full sit down dinner for 750 people and it was amazing.

Most places serves the crab meat soup without the shark fins, its not a game breaker with/without the fins. Since its a Vietnamese, you are suppose to have a bottle of cognac on each table, but too bad Crystal Palace venues has banned this. FWIW, if you ever get invited to a wedding @panda king. The food there is better and there's no bottle ban.

Most Vietnamese weddings are grand with 7 course meals very similar to this.

Yeah Shark fin soup. That's when they catch a shark cut the fin off and dump the rest overboard. Ridiculas and waste of game.

The waiters were walking around with it on trays.

Haha. I was at the same wedding. I used to work with the groom. Food was incredible. That salad was like a giant spring roll. Loved it.

I went to a Viet wedding a few years ago and the bride's family did all of the cooking. They are literally from Vietnam and don't speak English. It was probably some of the best food I have ever had in my life.
