Ordered Chinese from across town last night. Took only 30 minutes and food was still hot.

Took almost ten minutes and then discovered they don't have any restaurants at all signed up in Baton Rouge. No wonder they don't list them on their web site.

Save your time and money and go with Delivery Express if you're in NOLA, Baton Rouge, or Lafayette.

They literally have about 60+ signed up in the BR area.

Wut? I think your app is messed up. They have easily 50+ restaurants in BR. Takeout Express has ~18 and they're crap like Chili's and California Pizza Kitchen.

Found the problem. Installed the app on my SO's phone and the GPS was turned off. Getting them all now and I like what I see.

How do you know? Their web site doesn't list the restaurants.

Just about every place that uses Waitr has a sign outside of their business to promote the service

It's phenomenal. A little pricey if you are going solo on your meal but if you group up and get 3+ meals the $5 is nothing. Never had a problem receiving my food, it seems like they actually read the driver instructions (kinda weird to get to my place).
What I really love about it is the interface. They did a very good job with the menus of the places they cover. Most food items have pictures attached to them. I often find myself using the app to just browse menus, even if I plan on dining in or picking up, because it is so much better than the menus on restaurant websites.
But yeah, I've used Waitr about 10 times, mainly when I'm too drunk to pick up food, and have never had an issue. Such a great service.

I haven't used it yet, but downloaded the app a few weeks ago to see what's available. Now I'm getting pelted with newsletter emails, surveys and a bunch of other crap. There is an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of each of these emails but when I click on it I get a "server unavailable" error message. I could simply block the sender but that will be how I get my receipts if I ever use the service.

Here's text from one of the emails...

quote:

So long sweet summer. It’s been fun. This is the last weekend of summer and with the semi-changing temperatures it’s always good to look back on why this summer was so special. We had the Summer Olympics, which, now that it’s over, we aren’t afraid to call by name in marketing material. Pokemon Go dominated some people’s lives and brought those with Vitamin-D deficiencies out into the wilderness. Drake went on a mad hunt for revenge all summer-sixteen; played dirty, not clean. Most importantly we tried a lot of different new foods. Fall is upon us, and with it comes football, holidays, light jackets, pumpkin-spiced everything, and gumbo. But if ever you long for those sunny days again, or a taste of summer-sixteen, you can always get some barbecue, ice cream, or ceviche from one of our restaurants.

What a bunch of bullshite.

I took it as he meant $15 when he said 3 ways. $5 is cheap. Dominos charges $2 to bring you a pizza and that isn't counting the tip and the drivers are in house. It has to be more than $10 a run.

Is their business model in any way like Uber's with respect to the drivers? Or are people on shifts and just run back and forth all over town? Either way, I am sure it helps restaurants add a revenue stream and puts some cash in college kids pockets. We use it prob 1x each week or two and have never had any problems.

Yes delivery fee is $5, but you should tip on top of that. I found out through my friend who delivers for Waitr that they do not see what tips they have received until the end of the day.
