This thread lets me know that if I lived in BR I'd be spending a hell of a lot of time on I-10.

Relax. All in good fun.

I have to throw in an honorable mention to Serops on Gov't, across from Calandro's, and Zorba's on Perkins Road.

Nice!

I have to say that it is disappointing that these places get even one vote:

J. Alexander's
Ruths Chris
Bonefish Grill
PF Changs
Macaroni Grill

Ya that's it.

I'm not saying they are not good. But the personality, presentation, etc. is pure corporate.

The fact that there are chains on the list just shows how far BR has to go.

I could add Another Broken Egg and Texas De Brazil to the list.

Ruth's is the best steak in a lot of cities.

J. Alexander's has no business on the list, I agree. The other three were intentional jokes.

Presentation looks pretty damn good, I do not understand the hate for chains, if they do it well I will support them

I don't mind chains at all.

I could eat fast food every day, and I can have a good time at Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Chili's. (I know-the horror!)

I'm just saying that if chains are on the top 10 list, it's not a good commentary.

Can you imagine having a list in NY, Chicago, NOLA, Atlanta, LA, etc. that had Ruth's Chris? C'mon. There's more to it than just a good tasting steak. I can make one just as good at home.

Well, maybe not me, but others can.

No. Can you imagine comparing New York to any city of a few hundred thousand anywhere in the country and acting like it's apples to apples? Can you imagine comparing New Orleans to any other cities in the South? I can't.

Ruth's Chris would be a top ten restaurant in the vast majority of cities in the country with a population of ~250,000.

Agree.

Just to compare apples to apples:

If BR is around 250,000 then Atlanta is about 450,000

The greater BR area is around 800,000, and ATL is at 5.6 mill.

Point is that an 800K metro area should have more than a chain steakhouse in the top 10.

And I LOVE BR. I will be there this weekend and enjoying a bunch of good food.

I am blown away by the number of list that has Sammy's. They are very mediocre imho.

I would say

Flemmings
Louisiana Lagniappe
Galitores
Ruths
Ruffinos
Robertos
Maison Lacour
Little Village
Stroubes
Digiulio Brothers

Other more laid back joints

Red Zeppelin
Masons
Dempseys
