I thought it was common knowledge it was closing and another local group was taking over the spot.

This is based on nothing, but that would be a prime target for Creole Cuisine. They seem to focus on buying older places.

Don't be afraid to ask a question because you think it's stupid. The stupidest questions are usually the best questions.

Yep, this has been out there for a while now. Thought Dale and the chefs would make it easy for the kids to keep running, but I guess not.

I would be a bit surprised if they are the group. They just acquired Barecca's and Warehouse Grille as well as MAurepas. Don't see them taking on another property right now with all they have going on.

They just took over the location not the restaurant. Doubt they are doing the same type of stuff.

I have wondered for a while when they would slow down, but it doesn't appear anytime soon.

Again just an uneducated, uninformed guess, but it would appear (save for the location) to match the MO.

Oh, I understand that. For the location, though, they are going to have to try to do something other than cookie-cutter "Creole" meh, no?

I'm curious as to how in the hell the owners sat on that nice piece of property for 11 years. I know they did some private events, but that couldn't have been more than a few times a month.

I'm thinking a Sandro's, Vincent's, or Moscca's type place will set up shop. The Italians respect the territories of their fellow restaurants. There is a reason no true Italian restaurant is anywhere in Lakeview. Now that big Tony is gone, they (an existing Italian establishment) will look to move in.

II Tonys was in spitting distance of the place. So is Faustos.

There's not some sort of "Black Hand" enforcing territories of Italian restaurants in New Orleans.
