I have been twice...but that was a decade ago...or more. I remember thinking the burgers were good but nothing to make it a go to place.

Who has been lately? Thoughts? I have a friend who wants to go with a group. How does it compare in quality to Mooyah, Five Guys, Maxwell's Market, and Brewbacher's?

I went once several years ago. I have no memory of what I ate or whether or not is was any good.

How big is the group? I doubt they are used to having to serve more than 8 people at a time.

I love their burgers, but the Baton Rouge Burger Mafia will be in here shortly to tell you how horrible they are and how Curbside is the only burger worth having.

Its okay but I can never imagine wanting to get a group of people to go eat there. The burgers are better than Brew Bachers imo but not as good as the others you mentioned

I ate there once a couple years ago. Good but not memorable. It's just in a terrible location to get in and out of at lunch time.

It's been a few years, but better than Mooyah, Five Guys, or Brewbachers. Never tried the burger at Maxwell's Market.

I'd put Times Grill in the second tier of burger joints. They will cook to order at least, from what I remember.

I don't work far from there and I pretty much avoid it. Good burgers, terrible service. I sit at the bar and have never been able to get decent service.

I used to eat there all the time in college as my friend lived around the corner. He and I would go and bith get a Gold Burger and a beer. Service was godawful, but the burger was pretty solid. This was 5ish years ago. Went a year ago and there were no redeeming qualities.

It's been at least 2.5 years since I've been and when I went, it had been since before I was driving or anything since I had last been.

I remember nothing about the food, but I remember the service being really horrible. Zealot was actually with us. Maybe he remembers the food.
If you were in the area and wanted a burger, I guess I could see the reason to go. Otherwise, I think I'd take a group of friends elsewhere. The place is pretty dead anytime I pass.

On that note, none of the places mentioned are place I'd take a group either. Not sure if that was the reason for putting them there or if you just really like their burgers.

Oh. Well. I guess it is comparable to those places since they (with the exception of Maxwells) don't do anything too impressive.

Another reply said the Curbside fanboys will come in, but I'm glad he brought that to mind because Barcadia would actually be a great place to take a group since they have very good burgers, video games, and a fun/loud atmosphere.

Which is especially funny since the burgers in Baton Rouge are pretty horrible. I'm in BR about once a month for work, and I've stopped getting burgers all together when I'm there. I just wait until I get back home to Austin.

Not sure if your name is after the bar and grill in Austin, but Jackalope Bar & Grill has a great burger.

I used to go there every now and then, but I think they've been outstripped in quality by the newer places like Mooyah, Five Guys, Fat Cow and Burgersmith. I also think the Rum House and Olive or Twist has hurt their after work drinking business.
