They're selling off the original versions because the new model auto-rotates the display. What sucks is I gave my first one to my Pops then bought me another one for 99 bucks. Then about a month later the latest version comes out and the original version drops to 69 bucks. No luck I tell ya.

look again Rat. I have a few different thermometers I use for various things but steaks I use the way I posted. And I've Overcooked a few in my day too but that could be attributed to whatever I was using to cut the strength of my ice cubes at the time.

Have you used this compared to the Thermopen? I can get 3 of them for less than a Thermopen.
