Yea it's easy to do but youre still unnecessarily digging in your food. I'll stick to the fork only method so I'm not digging in my food every minute to eat some shrimp

Laughing as I read this. I ordered shrimp and grits a while back at a brunch and the shrimp were unpeeled with the tails on. I thought the kitchen screwed up. Was a complete mess to dig in my dish and get them out to peel and eat. I am no neat freak but digging in my food while hung over was not a pleasant experience.

It's really not that bad man. You use a fork for one hand and you use fork to tip the tail up (if it's not already sticking up) and you grab the tail and bite the meat out. Maybe two fingers get messy but you just wipe off napkin or suck your finger.

I don't get why people are not ok with this but will get spicy crawfish juice all over the place or rib sauce on their fingers. It comes with a good meal.

Because I order crawfish and ribs knowing damn well that I'm going to be using my hands and getting dirty.

I don't want this when eating grits. Sometimes I don't feel like digging in my food with my fingers.

I've never seen shrimp unpeeled in shrimp and grits. That would be messier than BBQ shrimp.

I've never had shrimp and grits in a fast food restaurant. I've also never had shrimp and grits with the shrimp still in the shells other than the last tail segment of the shell left on for aesthetic reasons. I've also never eaten the shrimp from a shrimp and grits dish with my hands.

Here are a few photos of shrimp and grits which resemble the manner in which they've always been served to me.

The cheese curds were an absolute star. Little pillows of mozzarella cheese. I see now how people can tolerate living in Green Bay.

Cheddar, not mozzarella

(though they look damn good regardless)
