Yeah that's always been my understanding.

Its a fantastic event; just imagine if NOWFE was half as excellent as Tales.

I ate at Kingfish a couple of months ago and it was my single worst dining experience so far this year.

Wow.

I wasn't impressed by the menu.
Last time I walked by I saw John Georges inside. I knew then it probably wasn't worth a damn.

Its bar is helmed by probably one of the greatest old school bartenders in the country. But go on and pass it up because someone you dont like was in there.

BO- I was kidding.

I don't mind Mr. Georges.

Then cocktails are certainly worth trying.

Well that sucks. Like BO said, one of the best bartenders in the city is there so that's why I said what I did.

I liked a few of the dishes I had. The smoked rabbit gumbo in particular. The food tends to be heavier, and I shut down eating anything too heavy this time of year. But once it cools down, it should be a great place to park oneself.

Every single thing I ate was just not good. We just had small plates. And the bartender was rude. Just a really bad experience all around.

Ok I need to start yelping more. You're the 2nd person who has told me about free events from yelping in 12 hours.

I swear... Being poor is the worst. Seems like everything happens at once. Between doing restaurant week several nights this week, art melt preview party Friday night, and tales of the cocktail... Why can't they spread out!!?

I feel your pain. I'm the queen of finding amazing deals! I keep a running list of the best and most affordable brunches, happy hours, etc.

With that being said, the free Yelp events are awesome!

R2R, how does one get tickets to Bar Room Brawl?

Also, what are the must do's of TotC? I'm not in the market to go to one of those $100 a head dinners, so I'm looking for something else worthwhile.

You will need a wrist band. Pool closes at 3:00 Wednesday-Saturday and different tasting parties start at 4:00. Sunday pool closed all day for a party. Lots of ladies from all over the globe. Giggity giggity.

Monteleone is the hardest hotel to sneak into as a non-guest, fwiw
