No. I'm eating what I like on it. My wife bought flour tortillas because she prefers them. The tortilla is the least important part of it to me. I may have a preference, but I really don't care. I generally don't put cheese on mine - I'm curious if others, do. I've tried queso fresco on my tacos, but honestly, when I get it, most of it goes to waste, because I'm the only one who will use it. We always have sour cream on hand, and I like it that way.
My kids put meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomato on theirs.

That "taco" picture is so maddening to me. Meat looks good, it's got cilantro, line lime and some type of salsa.
But the peppers and flour tortilla drive it straight into fajita territory
In Mexico a flour tortilla is a taco. A corn tortilla is a taco. Everything is a taco. No such thing as "fajita"

That's awfully selfish of her...especially considering a 10 pack of good corn torillas is about $.40.
I often put cheese on my tacos. Especially if it's a chicken or smoked pulled pork taco.

I'm a filthy Americano. I like crunchy shell, seasoned beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and shredded cheese.

I really, really dislike corn tortillas. Love corn though.

I initially wasn't a huge fan, but once you get used to them, it sucks to have to deal with flour.

I can kinda see the getting used to corn, but I cannot understand "having to deal with flour". The flour tortillas at Papacitos in Houston are so good I can eat them plain.

I eat both and like both equally. I have a Hispanic connection and she makes homemade corn and flour tortilla's and gives them to me and I can say they are light years better than anything store bought.
I like to have a warm corn tortilla with a bit of butter and a dash of sea salt folded up.

The only thing I make anywhere close to this at home is fajitas, so I buy the Tortillaland uncooked. Not spectacular, but better than the basic pre-cooked room temp ones. If I catch the Kroger people putting out their fresh ones, I snag those.

I get fresh flour tortillas around here and they are fantastic.

You have to get fresh corn tortillas. They can dry out pretty fast and become nasty.....like pretty much every store bought corn tortilla out there.

The fact that they are flour isn't the issue.
Anyone buying pre-made tortillas isn't a "purist" IMO.

Generally speaking, people tend to put too much cheese on too many things. I say no.

The brand I buy makes theirs in chicago, $.40 a pack, and if you time it right you can get a package that's still warm from the factory.
Your corn tortilla should have no more than 4 ingredients total.

This is a taco.
A real taco, not some bastardized version 99% of Mexican restaurants serve in the US.
When I go eat Mexican I want the menu in Spanish, waitress to be illegal and only Mexican beer to drink.
And queso is not fricking Mexican but I'll will eat the shite out of it.

Street tacos, maybe queso fresco, maybe none.
Gringo style? Always cheese and lettuce.

... and best with two tortillas fresh off the grill (or better touched by flame). Flour need not apply and the best ones are with meats you not find in a Tex-Mex.

Depends, some require and the delicious street tacos do not.
