Do you eat certain things as a snack that others might think is odd?

Tiny cans of pure tomato paste are a fantastic and healthy treat! (The contents of said can, not the actual can...) I love that stuff! I hate tomatoes, though, but love tomato paste.

I could maybe see sun dried tomatoes or something... but damn. That's like some nightmare diet that I could see catching on. "The Tomato Paste Diet."

Do you eat it as a dip or straight drink it out the can?

There's a place on Carrollton called Fellini's that served a tomato paste-based dip. It had seasonings in it like onions, basil and pepper, as well as feta cheese and pine nuts. It was really good! We got it on an appetizer sampler plate with hummus and baba ghanoush and of course pita wedges.

One cannot DRINK tomato PASTE. A spoon must be involved.

As for the poster asking if I eat that in my car, I have two questions.

1. Why would you ask that?

2. WAT??!?

I have eaten peanut butter by itself my entire life. That isn't odd to me.

Dry pasta. I'm partial to wide egg noodles and thin spaghetti but nearly anything will do in a pinch.

I used to eat a peanut butter, marshmallow fluff and hershey syrup sandwich on my daily commute to dental school. Would wash it down with a earl grey tea. Good stuff.

I posted this in another thread, but I snack on nori sheets quite often. The Korean ones are better than the Japanese ones

So, if you really want to pig out, do you scarf down a #10 can? Do you pass out and not remember it later, with the only evidence afterwards being an empty can and red-red teeth?

Salted Apple slices with caramel dip is my nasty snack secret.
