Looking at prices for cast iron 8 quart dutch oven, and one pops up at 400 dollars another at about 800. You need to rob a bank for those things.

Go to a garage sale.

Sometimes you can find someone selling old cast iron cookware for cheap.

I know.

You looking for an enamel coated one? Macy's puts them on sale a good bit. They were like 75% off a couple days ago.

I have the 5quart, but I also am in the market for the 8 quart.

If you aren't a snob about getting the Le Creuset, I have a Martha Stewart one that works fine.

This one is on sale for $92.

Nice. The oval one is 110 bones, and the 6 qt. round is just 50 clams.

are they covered in gold? I've never heard of one going for more than $100.

OP never specified enameled products. I was just thinking a standard cast iron lodge Dutch Oven. I bought a 7-quart from Academy for $55 recently. Hell, Lodge even has enameled dishes. Chinese made with Lodge branding, but still much less expensive.

Someone bought me one from Sam's Club as a gift a while back, it was maybe a 10 qt. I had it for 3 years before it chipped and then I chunked it. You can definitely tell the difference in quality between that one and my Le Creuset.

Where the hell are you looking?! Any certain thing special about the ones you are searching for? Those prices do not sound right at all.

I bought myself 4 diff sizes at Christmas. They have held up really well.

Only thing I did was go to the hardware store and replaced the handles on the lids with metal ones so that they can go in the oven. And they look fancier now.

The Martha Stewart one has been great for me.

The lodge enameled ones look kinda meh. It's female of me but I think they're ugly

Sur la Table does their own brand too. I wanna say they're cheap.
