The Barcadia thread had me thinking about restaurants that have signature dishes and styles but have one or another outstanding dishes that completely differ from what they're known for. Any that are especially good?
Examples: the chicken sandwich at Copeland's, roast beef po'boy at Capital City Crawfish, Brisket at City Pork, ect

Well, obviously I have to talk about PECHE!!!!
The beef tartare is the best item I've had there.

I've found that I like burgers at Mexican restaurants. I'm guessing it's the sheer volume of onions, peppers, and butter that is cooked on the flat top does good things for the burger.
ETA: Oh you said great . This might not count as great.

a lot of people don't know about the Cajun ribeye that is served in evg/st. landry parish at most joints.
it's a toasted piece of garlic bread (6" long half)
a ribeye grilled and sits on top of garlic bread
crawfish etouffee (no rice) on top of steak
c'est bon!!

The burger at Fleming's is the tits.
I feel like everyone knows that by now, though.

I almost included that, but didn't for that very reason

Fried chicken at Galatoire's is pretty awesome. It's not on the menu, but it is delicious.

Pizza at Gino's. Pretty sure it's a frozen crust too, but I like it.
