I have done a few different Jalapeno popper types on the grill but not quite like this with the smokies and all. I needed either smaller jalapenos or use whole strips of bacon becasue it was a challenge to get a good wrap on them...came out good tho! I used apple wood and smoked at 225ish for about 2.5hrs...probably could have gone a tad longer becasue the jalapenos still had a slight crunch...not that it was bad.

Got the recipe from HERE

Few pics of the process and results.

I like bacon wrapped jalapenos but never had with little smokies. I like a little crunch with the jalapenos like you mentioned.

Looks good and would devour.

Now I understand why the Indians followed the buffalo.

Always in the market for a new "bacon wrapped" treat. So, you sliced the smokies in half too?

Yeah, wondering if that was just a personal preference or maybe to allow one slice of bacon to cover it?

Yeah it was the smokies that grabbed my attention...I have had lots of bacon wrapped jalapeno things but never with the smokies. The instructions said to cut them so I did. I would think it fits better and maybe allows some of the juice to flow into the cheese mix. Either way they were delish!
