Delicious or not, I don't pay $15 for catfish. I fry fish all the time at home.

I would pay it for a catfish platter. I'd be pretty ticked if I got one piece of catfish though

At Envie in Thibodaux, the wife and I could eat twice off their normal seafood platter, plus it came with salad and soup I believe. It was like $26

I don't give a shite about Frankie and Johnny's, but this thread got me thinking. It seems a lot of people are absurdly focused on quantity. I mean, is the meal a rip off unless you feel stuffed? IMO, the South, working class Midwest and Northeast, etc, are more concerned with large quantities rather than a tasty meal and quality preparation and ingredients. And a lot of people eat and are satisfied but are oblivious and keep stuffing their food hole.

No offense to anyone. But if so, frick you.

When one orders a seafood platter, she is ordering a large meal...by definition. And it should be good and well prepared, just as any other dish. The Frankie and Johnny's pic is an abortion of a platter, and the rings are clearly too damn crunchy.

1) That pic is from Frankie and Johnny's
2) those aren't onion rings, those are fried bell pepers

There's only so much you can do to fried catfish. That plate isn't worth $25

Thanks. I didn't look back at it since early this afternoon. Fixing for R&O's benefit. No harm intended.

Damn this board has gone downhill. Three pages and no mention of Casamentos seafood platter.

Deanies would be better if they didn't fry all the seafood in the same oil.
