I've got 100's. Have given away lots.

Give me some ideas of what to do with them recipe wise? Jelly, Marmalade....?

Juice them and freeze the juice if you want. I've been squeezing them in my gin and tonic.

I bought some satsuma jelly, but I haven't tried it yet. I was looking for satsuma pepper jelly. I think that would be good, too.

Never seen it before, but I'm sure you could do an orangecello-like drink with them. I know from experience that the peels are a lot harder to zest than regular oranges, but you could do the hanging method with whole satsumas.

I stood in one place and picked a hundred Hamlin oranges off my tree, a couple days ago.
I've got a record crop this year.

I give them to neighbor s, family and local day cares.
The day cares are always very appreciative.

I've got soooooo many more to go

Donate them to the food bank.

More Info

It eliminates the need to zest. Zesting satsumas is a pain in the arse because it's skin is soft and thin.

So do I. I've never had so many satsumas, oranges and lemons. My trees' branches have been bent toward the ground. I'm a little worried that some of the limbs have been damaged. I've been picking from the bottom of to try to relive the stress, but there is so much fruit. I've begged people to come over and pick what they want. My oranges are the sweetest best tasting I've ever had.

How long can the fruit stay on the trees before it goes bad?

Google a limoncello recipe & replace lemon with Satsuma.

Well it's not going to use many of them but I love a satsuma old fashioned and a satsuma buttermilk pie.

If you're in South La.
You're good til late Jan sometimes Early February.

Don't forget to prune your tree after picking.
Cut the branches that are pointing down.

Growing citrus in Louisiana

This tells everything needed. I have picked over 300 Meyer lemons with about that left on the trees. Gave a basket to the Food Bank and St Vincent. Squeezed and froze a ton in ice cube trays.

Friend makes satsumacello and gives out for Christmas. I don't have the taste for it so I've never made it.

Satsumacello

I keep the umbrella raised on my trees to keep the fruit from hitting the ground and to be able to get underneath them. I do have to get a ladder for the top fruit but I keep the top pruned a bit as well for management. I normally get white fly and mold on the leaves and about once a year I have to spray liquid 7 pesticide but only use it minimally. Don't leave any mulch around the trunk. It prevents heat from entering during freezes.
