It's being run by Mcclure's BBQ. Sounds like your typical bar food, though I'm excited to try the tacos and BBQ poutine. Can't wait for the new room to open!

Why do so many people seem to dislike the owner of the taproom?

I think you might be confused. This is the Nola brewery place.

The expansion looks great. Gould open on the 12th

You may be confusing the owner of NOLA Brewing with the owner of NOLA Smokehouse. Kirk's a really laid back dude.

This article mentions more food - with bbq tacos, nachos, quesadillas with Sriracha aioli, smoked prime rib, redfish on the half shell, whole hog and then down the road brunch with pulled pork Benedict, smoked brisket hash, and riblets over grits.

For frick's sake guys, I'm not confusing him with anyone.

I don't know the guy or anyone who works there, but I have just heard a couple of disparaging remarks about the operation over the last couple of years. And the other night when the opening of the new taproom came up, people who live in the neighborhood (not old farts, btw) bitched about the way they have a total disregard for their neighbors.

I'm just curious.

Sounds like the exact opposite of what I know.

I know they've been trying to buy the rest of the property on that block that they don't currently own.

Get off my lawn!

Total disregard for the neighbors ?

Not at all. I've seen them send teams of people into the street around the brewery to pick up trash on a regular basis. They are very conscious and proud to be part of neighborhood.

Now the owner can come across as a douche but he's good people. He's got a kickass crew working for him that is impossible to dislike.

50 percent of their neighbors is heavy industrial and port traffic. Would find it hard to believe that a truck picking up bananas from the port has a problem with a brewery across a flood wall. The few settling hipsters in that until recently, relatively rundown area probably blame anything that happens on the brewery.

You're gonna need to provide some evidence for statements like that. Kirk is always cordial to me and speaks whenever he sees me out and about.

Can you find some links on here where people are complaining about th owner of the NOLA Taproom.

I've neve heard any complaints.
Kirks not ever there. He might come off as a jerk to a few people, but I just don't see it. Hell Polly at the Pub probably gets more complaints. LOL

I was mostly joking with that post. I do like his employees a lot more than him. But it's just like my opinion man.

I'm not comparing him to Dale at Chickie Wah Wah, who is so deeply unpleasant that I dread walking into the place.

Kirk may just be an annoying drunk. I don't think I've ever interacted with him when he wasn't hammered. At least I hope he was hammered. I don't have to like him to drink his beer. And you're not the first person to tell me I'm wrong about him.

I've never had a bad experience with anyone in the taproom. They're always awesome. I don't even know if I've ever seen Kirk in there.

But speaking of perfectly nice douches, I really wish they hadn't put Rusty Lazer on Piety.
