Heard NOLA Beans on Harrison may be closing and a Butcher-esque place may be moving in. Would be awesome if true.

I heard another rumor about another place potentially going in there, which would be Butcher-esque. i.e. small plates, charcuterie, wine, etc...

Have not heard anything from Link Group principals about Butcher going in there to date. That is all I have at this time.

ETA: Would absolutely destroy in Lakeview.

Ah ok, I was told "Butcher" and assumed Link, wishful thinking I suppose.

Would this place be replacing NOLA Beans or moving across the street on the corner next to the Snap fitness? I hadn't heard about NOLA Beans closing but I thought I read a NOLA.com article recently that referenced a prominent local chef opening a spot there.

Here it is Harrison Avenue's blossoming restaurant scene:
"Later in the summer, a neighborhood bistro is set to open at the corner of Memphis Street and Harrison near Lakeview Grocery. The owner was not yet ready to speak on the record, but he’s a familiar face from several well-regarded local fine dining restaurants."

Nah, I know who that is. That particular reference isn't to Link. It may also be a stretch to say he is a "familiar face from several well-regarded local fine dining restaurants."

I figured it wasn't Link when they didn't actually mention his name, since him living near there was an easy connection to make. Given what you know, will this place be a good fit? I live a few blocks away so I'm interested in the development going on there right now.

Who knows? Some restaurants succeed despite being awful, some fail despite being very good.

It always seems to me people in Lakeview all are in agreement they would love to have more great places to eat but the market isn't going there for some reason. One reason is moratorium on liquor license, but something else is keeping massive restaurant development away. Or maybe it has enough?

Did el Gato Negro close?

Why didn't that do well? Or the place that was there before?
