Think it's owned by Brookshires. I was in one in Longview a few weeks ago and they had a lot of Brookshires labels.
Plus that still expensive. I only buy leg quarters when they are .29 a pound which is pretty regular.

Super 1 in Lafayette is just as nice as Albertsons, but waaaay cheaper. The music they play is awful though, it's like every bad country song from the 80's. I asked a girl the other day and she said it's Brookshires radio.

There are two in Lafayette. The one on the Evangeline Thruway is a bit of a hole but the one on Ambassador Caffery is my go to store. Substantially cheaper than Rouse's or Albertson's.

I never heard of Brookshires either until I moved up here to West Monroe. It's not a horrible grocery store but definitely nothing like a Rouses or Alexanders. Friendly workers at least, but most of the folks up here are friendly.

I go to Super One to get BBQ meat. Good selection of pork butts, brisket, ribs, etc. I also get my smoked turkey wings there for greens. Plenty of selection of gizzards, livers, necks, etc.
Beer is cheap, and they have a decent selection.
A visit is good for self confidence, I am always the most handsome and best dressed customer there, which is never true at Brookshires.

There is also a Brookshire Brothers chain based out of Lufkin. As the business grew and more stores opened, Wood Brookshire and cousin W.A. Brookshire withdrew from the company and started Brookshire's, which now operates independently in Tyler, Texas-Brookshires Grocery Company. That is one that operates the Super 1 stores.
