Captain Wafers were big in LA. Growing up, they were in just about every seafood joint and restaurant in the state. And I like em.

However, I think cracker perfection was achieved with the Ritz. Crispy yet flaky, buttery richness, with just the right amount of salt. Good texture.

I ate like half a roll the other night.

Not a Ritz fan but a big Captains Wafer fan.

However a plain saltine with soft butter is pretty hard to beat. And to be honest you don't see them much anymore.

When you buy a box of Ritz crackers, on the back of the box, they have all these suggestions as to what to put on top of the Ritz. "Try it with turkey and cheese. Try it with peanut butter." But I like crackers man, that's why I bought it, 'cause I like crackers! I don't see a suggestion to put a Ritz on top of a Ritz. I didn't buy them because they're little edible plates! You've got no faith in the product itself.

And when you do see them in restaurants, they're stale and/or taste terrible. How can cracker companies screw up something as simple as a saltine?

Ritz are the shite, but wafers in seafood restaurants are to eat with the soups, gumbo, etc.... Still this way.
