I know restaurants were hurt by the restrictions but it seems some places went above and beyond. While others went to go only or limited. Some closed.

I was taking to someone yesterday about Cowbell and they were lamenting how Covid killed them.
But similar places (out of state left wing owned, specializing in high ingredient comfort food) survived.
Others went to to go. Cowbell shut down and let everyone go.

Some restaurants died from the pandemic, some from the hurricane others just killed themselves with overly stri t self imposed rules. Sadly one of the city's best burgers is no more.

I know there are others, this is just the most tragic one.

Needless government restrictions killed businesses. Without those, there wouldn't have been an issue.

I was shocked in 2018 as to how that place was still open.

Used to eat at LaBoca multiple times a year, and it was in the rotation for client dinners as well. Went on the no fly list after his foolishness.

Not restaurants per se, but Avenue Pub and Courtyard Brewing owners both have terminal cases of TDS and actively worked to elect a Governor and a Mayor that both turned around and declared war on them.

Locally, it seems most of the restaurants that didn’t survive had given themselves a reputation prior to Covid of being shitty places to work, so employees didn’t come back when restrictions were relaxed.

He remarkably didn't get wrapped up in Covid craziness. He's got some of the douchiest views around, sure, but for some reason he doesn't really bother me too much, as he manages not to wollop you over the head with them if you just want to go drink a beer.

If I like what you're selling and don't do that to me, I find we can generally coexist.

Firehouse BBQ in Watson planted their flag in the ground and took the fight to douchebag JBE. They won that battle and I honestly thought other restaurants would look at them as a model and band together to give the governor the finger.

Then I realized that most of these owners were supporters of JBE's tyrannical rule, and even though it ruined their business they were so happy to bend the knee and beg to be governed harder by Daddy Governor.

Owner on Facebook got political just like the others restaurant owners and thought it was good for business to peach their left leaning beliefs. He has since deleted his posts.

That count at Del Porto did her damage during the summer of BLM.
One of only a 2 or 3 that ever pissed me off so much with political postings that I actively hoped they went out of business

Yes he did .. ask him what he thinks about people not wearing masks during the mandates. Ask him if he went to social media about it.

Here in Lafayette Bread & Circus didn’t survive. A combination of staff attrition, and the size of the restaurant did them in. Their indoor seating was too small to really support the restaurant with the restrictions.

It’s a shame because it was the best restaurant in Lafayette.

Scott recently went around spreading to repeal the vaxx mandate, but keep the mask mandate. It was odd to say the least.

Goodenough has been one of the sweetest melts to watch. Especially since his backstory really came to light and the industry has kind of turned their back on his bullshite. Preaching with a safety net kind of misses its point.
