Restaurant recs for Paris
Spending four nights in Paris later this month. Any lunch and dinner recommendations?

The question with Paris is always "How baller do you want to go?"

Because Paris has some of the best restaurants in the world, probably the highest concentration of Michelin starred restaurants.

Parisbymouth.com is a GREAT resource for lists on a variety of different cuisines. I recommend perusing it pronto.

You've already missed out on a reservations at some of the more popular michelin star places if you're going in less than a month.

Places I really liked and would rec:

L'ami Jean
Septime
Spring (my favorite bigtime meal there)
Le Chateaubriand
L'as du Fallafel
Bistro Paul Bert

definitely get some ice cream at Berthillon

Just eat close to where you are. I wouldn't travel across the city for a restaurant. Just research whatever's in a 3 block area and be spontaneous.

Respectfully disagree. Have a plan for most meals. There are a shitload of tourist traps in Paris and it also depends on the neighborhood.

Parisbymouth has listings by neighborhood, so you can just look at that and see what's good in the Arrondisement that you are staying in

Agree that it depends on where you're staying. We were in 9th Arr and this place was down the block. Chartier. Casual and traditional French. Enjoyed it.

We were only there 3 days and weren't with "foodie" minded people, so restaurants took back seat to seeing things we wanted to see. Would love to go back. Enjoy it.

Just got back today. Didn't feel like going too baller plus wife has some annoying dietary restrictions that can make eating in a foreign country a pain. But...

If you want pizza, Pizza Popolare is the best I've ever had. Two can have amazing pizza for less than one main course at a usual cafe. No reservations and long line to wait but moves fast. Great stuff and very cool building.

La Petite Rose des Sables, Restaurant Guy Savoy, Les Apotres de Pigalle, Au Petit Sud Ouest, Creperie Broceliande, and Berthillon are a few of my favorites.

Also, for lunch you can't really go wrong with stopping in a boulangerie and getting a jambon-beurre, pick up a bottle of wine and go sit in a park or along the Seine and just picnic and people watch.

Do you like oysters? Yes. Then go to either Regis Huiterie or Le Baron Rouge (latter often has a guy shucking out in front).

Want a classic French Bistro experience) L'ami Jean or Chez Michel.

Higher end but classic L'atelier de Joel Robuchon.

Newish wave Spring or Frenchie.

re: Restaurant recs for Paris
My favorite thing about Paris: bakeries & patisseries....find a cheese store, a nearby bakery & buy a baguette, instant meal. Chase it with a cannele or mervellieux or eclair. The small food shops of Paris are a wonderful experience, don't spend all of your mealtimes in restaurants (just my 2 cents). A basket of fraises des bois, a ripe Camembert, a baguette aux cereales....my idea of heaven.
