That number doesn't sound right. I know they are a big craft brewery, but not Billions big.

How many barrels are they supposed to be brewing in 2015?

Maybe it is a billion pesos?

Edit: While I just put this as a joke...apparently 1 B pesos is about 60 mil.

Ballast Point's 2014 revenue was just short of $50 million. Their IPO was going to be somewhere around $175 million. I don't see how Constellation got to $1 billion either.

nasdaq article says 4 million cases in 2015...

quote:

Ballast Point is on pace to sell nearly 4 million cases in calendar 2015, which would represent growth of more than 100 percent versus calendar 2014. Net sales for calendar 2015 are expected to approximate $115 million. Volume and net sales growth from calendar 2012 to calendar 2014 averaged over 80 percent. Ballast Point employs more than 500 employees, produces beer in four facilities in the San Diego, CA area, and sells its beer in over 30 states.

Thanks for doing the math.

I think recent sales have been for about $1,000/barrel so that'd put them worth around $290MM. They've got quite a few physical locations and a distillery setup but don't see how they'd be worth 1 Billion still.

Crazy.

It's a lot, but...

If they are willing to pay it, it's technically worth it, at least to them. I'm sure they feel like this is their foot in the door of this segment of the industry and they can make their money back.

Well, good news, is that i'm guessing we'll be seeing sculpin here. Bad news is they'll probably up the cost to make up for that $1 billion buy out.
