I tend to get sidetracked when I am cooking something I need to leave boiling for 15-20 minutes and then burn it... This is why a rice pot is awesome

Admire it. Then dump it in the fricking trash and eat something that tastes better...by a fricking mile. Then get your lard arse out of your chair and walk two more miles. You'll be better off than if you ate that jackass shite, and you'll feel better, too.

Love quinoa. Just made a dinner of quinoa, roasted tomatoes, black beans, garbanzos, corn, cumin/etc...threw it all in a pot with some stock and walked away for 20 minutes. Topped with avocado.

I've tried quinoa and just am not a fan. Maybe if someone else cooks it for me and I like it I will try it again. Until then, I'll pass. I do however buy and use quinoa pasta instead of regular. Tastes almost as good and it is much healthier.

ive tried to replicate the Mediterranean and california recipes that whole foods sells.

the california one has cilantro, black beans, almond slivers, raisins, purple onions diced... some mango, red bell pepper and some balsamic vinegar.

i do my own version of greek quinoa with sliced sun dried tomatoes, olives with some of the vinegar in it... pepper some onions, and when im feeling fancy, i roast garlic and throw the cloves in (think the toppings on zea's hummus). i add half a serviing of chevre crumbles as its only an additional 45 calories and i love the flavor.

Y'all are crazy. I think it tastes great. One mistake I find people make is forgetting to wash it. It can taste pretty funky if you don't wash it beforehand.
i have failed to wash it before. it was bad. only reason i tried it again is because someone served it when he had me over for dinner at his house and it was delicious (it was the whole foods one i referenced above)

pretty sure I rinsed it the 1x I cooked it but I guess I'll grab some from Whole Foods next time I go to give it another shot.

I like the little crunch of quinoa. I didn't think I would like it at all and, plain, isn't so good, but I've used it for roast gravy and it worked out really well. Got gravy flavor and a little crunch. I'd rather have rice with gravy, but it worked. You can flavor it all kinds of ways if you enjoy the texture.

I buy a pre-rinsed organic because that's usually what's in the store, so I've never had a rinse issue. I think you're supposed to rinse it multiple times, though.

Butter makes it taste great like it does most things.

Or you could try to focus on a healthy diet rather than thinking you can exercise away a shitty diet.

I bought some, but haven't used them. I'd like to know about them, as well.

You're so cool. I wish I was so manly that I could sneer at healthy food like you. But nevermind, I'm sure you are just the pinnacle of physical perfection.

Wasn't bad 'till I popped a few lumar discs a few years ago. A tad on the pudgy side now...so I cooked some quinoa a year or so ago...didn't impress me at all. You can have my share. Plenty of better tasting , healthy options out there.

It's not the best tasting thing out there, especially on its own, but it is versatile. It is healthy, which I thought you were contesting.

No. I'm sure it's healthy...but I don't want to work my butt off to make it taste decent. I can eat other foods that are both healthy and enjoyable. I see it as a health food fad...and not a very good one. I'm eating a damn yogurt for lunch at my desk, by the way.
