Yesterday I bought a $150 15 lb. Prime Rib that I planned on cooking for all the wonderful mothers in my family for Mother's Day. Left it in the back seat of my truck from about 8:00 pm - 3:52 am (now). Such an idiot. It's vacuum-sealed. Edible?

People sous vide prime rib. You left yours in the truck.

I'd eat it. It's fine.

Real question is how did you manage that? Were you drunk?

I actually think if you pulled it at 3am you might be ok. Thing is, do you want to bomb the mom's potentially.

Yeah and subtle brag.

Nothing says Mother's Day like getting the entire family sick. The safe recommendation is anything that sits in 40-140 degrees for more than four hours is dangerous, which includes your roast of death. Unfortunately, I'd say no go. Kudos for merely leaving a side of beef in the car, rather than a child or pet.

Not a subtle brag....just wanted everyone to know how hard the decision is to throw it away.

"Accidentally" cook it to 142 and hold it the four 5 hours.

Will be a bacterial wasteland after searing.

cook it. Then "accidentally" drop it on to a pile of dog shite. Then you HAVE to throw it away

Are you willing to take care of the sick kids and moms all by yourself? Nobody cleans up kid puke better than a mom. Good luck.
