Spacious and clean, nice bar area. Food was good but definitely pricey and moderate portions.

Oysters are even more expensive than acme. 15 a dozen raw. No specials on any day :/

99 percent sure my server was high. Cleaned the table and took silverware repeatedly when we were still eating. Brought out apps the same time as the food.

Unimpressed.

Heard a similar review. Apparently the waitstaff is not very bright.

Not surprised considering who's running the joint.

I went there Wednesday and got the crab au gratin. It was pretty good but not cheap and the side salad was good but small, served on a saucer.

They do have a daily special. I either saw it on their website or their Facebook page. The price was not listed and I didn't think to ask when I was there.

I believe the lunch special tomorrow is shrimp ettouffe and popcorn shrimp.

And that's when I lost confidence in the OP's opinion.

$15/dozen does seem high though.

I went for lunch one day this week. $18/dozen for charbroiled is too much but they were good. Not drowned in garlic butter and could actually taste the oyster. Doubt I will frequent due to the prices though.

It would be weird if your server wasn't high. It is a restaurant after all.

This sounds strange. If you were eating with the utensils, did the server take them from your plate?

That's definitely annoying.

kind of what I was worried about with the place, leaning heavy on nostalgia vs. the menu

They were always sort of overpriced with meager portions.

I don't even remember the place in its hey day....just seemed most of their marketing was focused around member berries.....

It's a bit more competitive than it used to be

I went with the family a week ago.

I had a very different experience. We did apps, meal, drinks, and dessert. Everything was delicious and our server did a fine job.

I wouldn't rely solely on the OP to make the decision for you.

The old place did have these classic gruff old lady waitresses. I don't think you can get that anywhere in BR anymore.

There are very few places I am willing to spend that much on oysters and mostly due to the other food I plan to get.
