Budweiser buys all the beechwood and there literally is none to buy anywhere.

Beechwood is used as a clarifier and also as an agent to reduce off flavors like diacetyl.

The producers of Bud Light probably have a little more money than the producers of Ghost, which could help monitor the process.

I don't doubt that they do, but to "battle with boring, tasteless swill", it seems like you should be able to bring it all the time

When paying a premium price, for anything, you should know what you're getting the 2nd time

I would not be very pleased if I went to a store and purchased a bottle of "Ghost in the Machine" not "Ghost in the Machine 2.0" or "Ghost in the Machine Batch 1447889" and it did not taste like my previous purchases of "Ghost in the Machine" not "Ghost in the Machine 2.0" or "Ghost in the Machine 1447889".

Hey, Ghost 1447889 was a fantastic batch. Got a lot of Grapefruit with a hint of baby diaper.

But the beauty of hand crafted beer is that no 2 batches are ever the same

so you cant dump the same amount of shite in every time? come on man... of course there are variables that affect finished product but the level of variance between batches of the same beer, and similarities between batches of completely different labeled beers.... that is more of an indication of you dont know what you''re doing or you simply dont care.

$3 for a 12oz bottle is far from premium price.

Do you even Prairie?

This. People that complain about the price of ghost/opus crack me up.

All those NE beers that everyone loves are $4-6 a can.

That is the paradigm to be sure.

I'm just challenging the notion. Wines from the same vineyards are different every year. Why not beer?

I'm sort of thinking out loud as I type this, but why does consistency matter so much? Quality matters. But why is "same" so important?

Because you can't say which beer you like and look forward to. I think it's the uneasiness that humans deal with of being very scared of change in general. We don't like it whether it's taxes, relationships, getting a hole in your favorite pair of 5 year old jeans that you now have to retire, or going to Deano's and Marie Laveau not being the same as you remember.

This, almost all of us can say -
"I fricking love Parish beer. They are carrying the torch in Louisiana for great beer and I'm proud that they are in our area."

This, none of us can say -
"I love GITM, Opus Vert, and Envie." We would like to, but we can't. We can't because it's never consistent. That is why consistency matters so much to SOME people. Personally, I could care less. I think Parish makes good beer. Parish, please, take my money. I will enjoy whatever I buy. The day I stop enjoying what I buy, inconsistencies aside, is the day I will quit buying your beer.

I do believe that most people would appreciate more transparency. I do believe that the customer is at least owed that much. They did exactly this with Opus 2.0. They told you what they were going for and why they changed it.

With GITM, people have come to expect "GITM". The last few batches have been consistent. That's why you have people up in arms on here about it. I haven't tried it yet, but Im looking forward to it as Im sure it won't suck. It'll be a quality Parish ale. If it's not, I wont buy any.

Prairie at the source is half the price it is in LA.

Tree House cans are $3.50--so let's say the price is comparable to others they are striving after.

I don't care what anyone says, you cannot realistically say spending $14-$15 on a 4-pack of beer doesn't come with some expectations. And I agree that's not a bad price for the product, but price point is what turns most potential newbies away
