Didn't you just say that Parish can sell to their customers direct?

They make beer. Making something is called manufacturing. The process they use for manufacturing their beer is brewing

Pretty sure they can sell a limited amount direct.
Sorry that you don't quite get how beer distribution works in this state.

Think I will stick with Mudbug Intercoastal IPA, by far best IPA in the state

Yeah, they recognized it's problem and fixed it. Good for them.

For packaged beer. Courtyard still has the best IPA

So let's recap

Can sell direct
Charge same price as beer that is marked up by distributor and retail
Pays no shipping

What'd I miss?

A lot.
You obviously have it figured out. Go open your own place. Knowing that you can get full price for all that you are allowed to go direct with, but in order to make a few people happy, go ahead and cut prices just to be a nice guy.
Peace out. I'm headed for Cocodrie for the night and fishing tomorrow.
About to go buy another good beer in Holy Roller IPA for the camp tonight. I plan to over analyze the shite out of it and compare detailed notes. LOL

Yeah, it is a lot better than I remember it, had to go an update my untapped review of it.

What about Secondline in New Orleans? How is the beer that they are making? Saw on FB people were liking the RIS

That you can pour anything into a bottle labeled Ghost In The Machine, it doesn't have to be remotely close to the last 3-5 times you sold it to prospective buyers. Consumers aren't buying it based off of previous batches anyways, they just love to spend $72 a case and call it badass.

Selling direct can be tricky. Sure you can make money by selling lower, but you don't want to undercut your retailer since 90% of your volume has to be channeled through them.

Also that some people can't have an adult conversation and resort to name calling and sarcastic hyperbole rather than try.

Sums up what a few people on here think is the right approach to craft beer especially BMoney with his shitty point of view

Golf board guys are trolling the FDB guys big time.

Like others have said you absolutely are wrong. Alcohol distribution/manufacturing doesn't follow the same free market principles as other industries because they do not operate in a true free market. They have to abide by more government regulations then most other industries. Regulations were slightly relaxed a few years ago to make it easier for small brewers to set up shop and succeed but LA still has some of the strictest distribution laws in the country. They are only allowed to sell a limited amount of their product direct to consumers through the brewery. The rest has to be sold using distributors. Since they rely (because the state tells them they must) on distributors to promote and sell a majority of their product they are not about to try and undercut these guys on price or they will risk pissing off these distributors who can retaliate by not promoting Parish's products.

quote:

Why can Bud Light, Miller, etc produce a consistent product with hops that apparently change flavors, but this GITM looks and tastes different from a batch from a month ago

Comparing large scale commercial brewing of light pilsners and lagers to small scale craft brewing of hoppy ale's is just idiotic and shows you are just trying to stir shite up. The fact that BMC is able to blend multiple batches from giant tanks that would dwarf Parish's total production is just one of the many reasons you are not going to see the same consistency.

It seems like it was only a couple of batches ago you were acting like hot shite because you picked up a couple of 4pks of GiTM. Oh how times have changed.
