Oatmeal - How Do You Make It?

I've been eating more and more oatmeal. I am told it's healthy, and it makes a quick, solid, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast IMO. I've been going with steel cut oats (which take a little longer to cook), but I make 4 servings at a time and store the others in the fridge for each day of the week.
Basic recipe is bring 3 cups water to boil, add 1 cup steel cut oats and a little salt, and cook on low temperature for 30-40 minutes (until I get the desired consistency, which, for me, is a little thicker). When it's almost done, I add a few tablespoons of ground flaxseed - adds some nutty flavor and also some nutritional benefits. To heat up the refrigerated portions, just microwave for 90 seconds. Add a handful of blueberries before eating.
How do you like yours? Instant, quick, rolled, steel-cut? Milk, water, or a combination of both? Watery or thick consistency? What toppings?

Instant. I buy the Great Value brand variety pack at Walmart. It's cheaper than dirt and it's pretty good, that is if you like your oatmeal with the texture of snot, and apparently I do.
Rip open a pack. Empty a single serving package into a bowl. I pour milk into the serving package to measure milk. I pour milk into the bowl. Nuke for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Let cool for 2 minutes. Eat.
It has a variety of flavors. I even liked the banana one.

Steel cut (Whole Foods, organic). 3c milk, 1c water, 1c oats, pinch of salt. Cook 45 min, let sit 5 mins. Fruit and touch of pure maple syrup. Put several servings in fridge for quick breakfast during the week...love that stuff.

2 cups Steel cut oats
1/2 cup oat bran
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/4 cup low fat soy flour
1/4 cup almond meal
1/4 cup hazelnut flour
1/4 cup ground flax seed
1/8 cup sesame seeds
Combine ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Mix 4 cups Non-Fat milk and 6 cups water in a large pot and bring to a boil.
Pour in oatmeal ingredients from mixing bowl and stir continuously until oatmeal begins to boil and thicken.
When oatmeal begins to thicken, add a tablespoon of cinnamon if desired, reduce fire to low and cover pot. Let cook for 30 minutes stirring occasionally (often) to keep bottom from sticking.
Serve hot and top with fresh banana, blueberries, apples, strawberries or your favorite fruit of choice.
Oatmeal can be frozen in smaller individual containers or will keep in the refrigerator for a week.

For a quick snack/breakfast, I rip open a pack of the instant, any variety will do, & eat it out the pack. It's the consistency of an oatmeal cookie & is great on the go. I suggest you shake the packet well first to get everything mixed up well.

I've been buying the Umpqua brand from Costco. Pretty good imo and super quick.

Be careful eating instant. Some brands add tons of sodium to make oatmeal absorb water quickly.
I add cinnamon and a dash of pure vanilla when boiling almond milk. Finish with sliced almonds and a few drops of local raw honey.

Quick oatmeal. Add water, microwave for 1:15. Stir in milk and top with either sliced bananas, strawberries, or apple and cinnamon. Add Greek yogurt as well.
