Despite people saying it was just okay, went to the Pelican Club tonight. It was great. The amount of options they had for the $35 deal was great. Especially since one of the options was a lobster dinner, and I knew that my gf would want that.

Bravo to the F&D board.

It appears that it's all hands on deck this week. Lots of dollars flowing to our local restaurants.

I went to Domenica today for happy hour. While I didn't partake in the RW menu, I did thoroughly enjoy myself. I tried the new Roasted Pork pizza, absolutely delicious. It has a latin feel that is different in the pizza world and certainly for Domenica.

I did try to order the rabbit "tenders" off the small, happy hour menu but they were out. It was served with some pesto sauce which sounded to die for. Very disappointing.

The star again is my choice for last meal, Stracci. Just unbelievable. It's a must if you haven't tried it yet.

I loved Criollo. You'll definitely enjoy it, and the amount of food you're going to get for $20 will blow your mind.

Except for when you get a piece where they didn't properly clean and remove the gall bladder and you get an explosion of disgusting, super bitterness when you bite into the liver. That one episode has made me very leery of ordering it again there.

I understand.

I've ordered it 10 times or so and have only had that one bad experience.

It was certainly on point last night.

Oh, I would also like to add the tagliatelle (rabbit and porcini) as a "must have" dish at Domenica. It's like I order it every other time I go there.

What did you get?

That was the biggest compliment I've ever heard paid to the place.

Took three customers for lunch. I had the shrimp and grits ,we also had the BBQ absinthe burger, crab Brie poboy and I think one guy had the catfish. All were very good.the dinner menu had many more choices than most this week. I always found this place a nice easy table to get with above average food.

I continually don't get your love for this dish. Worst thing by far I've ever had at Domenica. Its the only thing I've not liked there, ever. Just a muddy mess of a dish. Terrible.

Anyway, did August last night...

It was very good. That Panna Cotta dessert was really good.

Very nice. Was supposed to do Commander's last night but the gf had a work function instead and then had to cut it short to go get a z pack. I may try to do something Sunday evening so I can take advantage of the deals. Or maybe I'll go sit at the bar @ August tonight after work since she's going out of town. Keep that on the DL though brah she'd be pissed.

This is crazy talk. It's a great dish. While you don't get my love for it, I don't get your hate for it. The people I've been with and discussed the dish with all love it.

It's a ragu, not a dish that needs an extremely delicate hand. It's suppose to be very flavorful and it succeeds at it's charge.

Sorry you don't like it FB.

I really wish I was doing August, I'll hit it next time.

Everything on the restaurant week menu.

Seafood salad wasn't my favorite. The sauce on the lemonfish was to die for. The Calabaza squash capaletti with oxtail and bone marrow was really good. The bone marrow was heavily smoked but I kinda liked it. Husband said it was like eating a chimney but I thought it was really interesting. The beef shortrib brucciloni with puffed farro, wild mushroom and gremolata was excellent. Kinda tough to cut which I thought was odd but had a great nutty flavor in it that was intriguing. The mushrooms were quite tasty. Didn't love the apple tart but the sunflower seed butter was very cool.
