This. I have a sixer in the fridge now that is muddy and malty. Still wish it would be widely available because when it's good it's good.

Jucifer is plenty hoppy. But not bitter.. I think that's what you're looking for and missing.
No, the first batch I got from the brewery was a bright orange and had that hoppy juicy flavor that I have come to enjoy in NE IPAs.
Unfortunately, the last 3 or 4 6-packs that I have purchased (varying batches) have been an almost poo light brown color and the malt flavor has taken over. Each time I purchased these can they have been within two weeks of canning. They have a serious canning issue with Jucifer that they thought they nailed down after the last July batch but they have not. Best to make money by selling kegs(which don't have the problem) while they test cans in house to a while to get the problem sorted out. Just my opinion

I am wondering if this has something to do with a canning issue because I have had a few cans from multiple batches pour a mud water like color and have a more malty taste than normal.
Co-sign. The last couple 6-packs I bought came out a weird color and just tasted off.

Agreed, poured one last night from an 8/7 6-pack and it was off. Just looked and smelled different from the beginning and tasted off. I was really disappointed because the first couple 6-packs were phenomenal. Hopefully they can take a step back and get it right before going back to mass release.

I have a 6 pack dates 7/25, maybe I should just toss them.

Would a smaller brewery like Gnarley even take a hit if they laid off of brewing a flagship like Catahoula Common and used the capacity for Jucifer? Catahoula is a shelf turd at most stores I go to.

I'm not sure but if I were them, I would swap Catahoula Common to small batch and kegs then move Jucifer in it's place for canning quantity.

It's the same issue I have with Parish. South Coast doesn't move off of any shelves I see yet it takes up space when Parish could be brewing better beers on a more consistent basis.

Is it possible that this might also be a hop availability thing???
Posted on 8/16/17 at 3:11 pm to NIH
I dont think it's a shelf turd but it's certainly more shelf stable
I drink a lot of it
It's certainly profitable or they wouldn't make so much of it

Ah, yes that is the common canning issues everyone's been running into. I agree with you.

What is the issue with the can and why only Jucifer? Not their others.
I drink a lot of the Radical Rye. It's a good beer.

I really like Radical Rye. Does the problem with Jucifer happen pre canning or after. I have 6 in the fridge. Maybe I should drink them all tonight so they don't go bad.

The can im attempting to drink right now is definitely not the brite hazy jucifer im used to. This stuff is brown and not too great. Canned 8/7

My 7/27 cans are holding up better than y'all. Still nice color, no malt, bit o sniff of cat piss but generally ok.

I am gonna guess this may be partly to have the tanks freed up for Lion Up with football season rolling around.

I think the 8/7 batch was just off pre-canning. I am guessing they have been rushing and trying to get batches out and realize that if they let the quality slip it will harm them in the long run.
