I'm taking the lady down to NOLA this coming weekend. I'm curious if there are any new, recommended, local spots to checkout? We will of course walk Jackson Square, dine at Mr B's and spin the night away on the Carousel bar. I've been to NOLA many times however the last trip was probably five years or longer. I'd prefer to have a drink at good local watering holes and eateries.

Anything in the French Quarter, Warehouse or Uptown would be appreciated including anything off the beaten path, fancy is fine. I thought I'd ask y'all coonass swamp breathers for new information.

Are you just going to post this on every board?

I probably should. Increase the responses while collecting more data, good point.

You def. need to research more and get out of the quarter.
Check out Frenchman Street, Magazine Street Uptown, and a few places in the Marigny and Bywater.

You'll likely get a bunch of worthy recommendations. For something uptown, yet off the beaten path, i'd recommend my favorite New Orleans restaurant, Clancy's. It's white tablecloth, but not stuffy. Great drinks, excellent service, and fantastic food. All right in the middle of a random residential neighborhood. It's not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for.
