Donald Link earned a nod for Outstanding Chef (while representing Herbsaint in this instance), while five chefs were nominated Best Chef in the South region: Justin Devillier, La Petite Grocery; Slade Rushing, Brennan's; Alon Shaya, Domenica; Michael Stoltzfus, Coquette; and Isaac Toups, Toups' Meatery. Kelly Fields, of the Restaurant August/Besh Restaurant Group, scored a nomination for Outstanding Pastry Chef, while JoAnn Clevenger (Upperline) was nominated for Outstanding Restaurateur. Elsewhere, Brigtsen's and Restaurant August were nominated for Outstanding Service, while both Arnaud's French 75 Bar and Cane & Table received nods for Outstanding Bar Program. (French 75 was named to NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune's list of Top 10 bars for 2014 while Cane & Table was named one of the Top 5 new bars for 2014.)

Solid list. New Orleans should posssiby be considered it's own region.
Little surprised with Link getting a nod for Herbsaint, as Rebecca has been running the kitchen for quite some time. It seems she could have been considered for Best Chef South.
Guess it's just an excuse to get Link to travel to the event.

The scene is the best it has ever been and will continue to thrive. Look for Shaya to be a 2015 "Best New Restaurant" nominee.

Pound for pound, NOLA is as strong as any city in the country, food scene wise.

There are better, but not per capita. I agree.

Shaya
We were eating @ domenica not too long ago with kids (5 & 8 yo). Somehow the conversation with our waiter led to our kids being invited into the kitchen to see how the pizzas were made. I walked back there with them to make sure they didn't touch anything.
As they walked in they received a huge round of applause by the kitchen staff. Shaya was in the middle. My 5 yo asked which one was the chef and he acknowledged that he was. My son then asked where his hat was. They all got a kick out of it and spoke to them for about a minute before we returned to our table.
Very down to earth guy.
