I think it must be crack.
I also don't think it is sub-par fast food. Maybe not you, but I think it is better than most people could make at home. Just the chicken, not all the other stuff.
Although they used to make their lemon pies in house. Not sure now.
Oh, and the lemonade. It's the best. Lemon and sugar.

I thought that was gonna be an Arby's

I'll tell you how times have drastically changed in such a short amount of time really. Back in the 80's I can remember the Chick Fil A in Cortana, and it being quite unremarkable and forgettable back then with few who even gave it much of a passing thought. Fast forward to today and Chick Fil A is unbeatable and people are as giddy as a little school girl at the mere mention of a location being built.
Its so strange, but I'm pretty sure its a generational difference between the times when people were more accustomed to cooking food and home cooking than living off of sub par fast food growing up.
I don't know that I'm completely buying your typical social commentary reasoning as to why, but it is weird how chick fil a went from being 'oh that's that place that sells chicken sandwiches in malls' to some sort of end all be all of fast food establishment greatness.
It's a hell of a coup, if nothing else, I'd say.

And I can also remember Cortana in the 80s where the little lady stood out there with the tray of nuggets on a toothpick and all the kids would run over there to get one. I guess that was the beginning of the end.

I don't get giddy about CFA, and there's nothing special about CFA's food, except for their phenomenal chicken biscuit.
I do think that well run fast food places like CFA & Cane's, separates them from other fast food joints and makes them a more desirable fast food joint to go to.....And yes, we all eat fast food occasionally, except for Mike.

There was one in Cortana? I thought mama Brava's was the only thing worth eating at Cortana

I concur...It's the delicate balance and special blend of seasonings they use which get novice home c-biscuit makers like mike da tiger frustrated that they can't be duplicated at home like Cane's sauce can.

Really. Besides, the biscuits are mushy and nondescript. If you want an excellent biscuit go to Whataburger. Theirs are than any I've had in BR, chain, fast food, sit down, they are better than my homemade.

It is still there and was certainly there in the early 90s

Yeah, salt and white pepper for the bird batter, and maybe buttermilk and/or butter or substitute for the biscuits, with Sugar, which is what is the common denominator in all chain food, lots of it.

I am still waiting for the DS location! CFA bought a lot last year, but nothing has happened since!

10 to 1 I can not only destroy a CFA chicken biscuit, but can kick it square in the nuts with just a minimal amount of effort in a kitchen.
Well since you have fixed odds I'll take that bet and put up ten bucks. If I win I'll donate my hundred to your new chicken bis quit restaurant that will be naturally locally owned. I'm sure quite a few of the local batters here would also donate towards your local start up capital and I know the owner of a local bank that will review your business plan and possibly give you a business loan and mortgage.
You want local there you go. I just gave you money where your mouth is.
And you have a local chicken biscuit about three miles South of this new chain in Franks and I'll tell you it blows.
