I'd go with a stainless pot myself. Otherwise go to a restaurant supply store open to the public(Caire in New Orleans) or there Marque's on the westbank that had a heavy duty aluminum stock pot(restaurant grade) and basket with a paddle and a nice burner for I think it was $259.00

I started with a metal keg with the top cut off. No idea how big that is, but it very very tight when boiling a sack. The lid pretty much held everything in.

I got this one last year. So far I'm happy with the purchase. Can fit 1.5 sacks with fixings, but a little bit tight. I might be putting too many extras. I plan on doing only a sack at a time in the future. Boils fairly quick with the stock 10 psi regular.

This is the one I got this year since I'm new to boiling and didn't want to spend a lot. It's definitely worked well.

I hope my pot setup lasts forever, it would drive me crazy going from the expanded metal basket to a punched metal one. The punched metal seems like it takes forever to drain.

hear that propane tanks for double jets often freeze up. I know one solution is to leave the tank in a shallow tub of water while you have the burner going.

Or you can just get a 10gal tank and there are no issues. Brought my double burner (same one talked about above) to a buddy's house and his 5gal tank froze up. I use my 10gal anytime I boil with my double burner and it works fine. I also use the regulator that came with it. That sum bitch is loud when it's wide open, but water boils in no time.

If you'll be boiling more than once or twice a year, spend the money and get a Rocket pot. You can use a single jet burner, boil just as quickly, and save a ton of propane. When I was boiling at the bar I did 7 sacks back-to-back-to-back and didn't even empty a 5 gallon propane tank. Any single jet burner with a high-pressure regulator will do.
