Apparently I am going to be the one person on this board who doesn't mind this place at all. I don't think I have ever had a bad experience there and I go enough that I have a fairly big sample size. The only time I wasn't happy with my service was once when the waitress wasn't old enough to drink so explained their new beers terribly. Other than that I have never waited to long for food or beers. The food is average to above average. The beer used to be well above average (almost best in city) but has kind of dropped off recently.

I don't mind going there at all.

Only paid for our drinks. They didn't even offer us any kind of discount or anything.

Oh ok. I was like DON'T PAY FOR THAT FOOD.

I can't believe that though.

I mean, if two of your tables order the same thing and one got there first, take out the one who got there first.. no matter which ticket the kitchen tells you it belongs to. Going strictly by tickets means you have 0 critical thinking skills.

I try and give br restaurants the benefit of the doubt but the last few times I've been to the Londoner the service has been abysmal. So much so that I don't want to go any more and it's close to my house.

That's fortunate. I've probably been 7 or 8 times I guess for anything from happy hour to dinner and I'd say maybe once did I actually get what I would consider a good server, and half have been downright bad. That's not good . Unfortunately, I like the setup, beer selection, and the location, but we really kind of crossed it off of our go to spots.

I enjoy the place to. I've probably been about 10 times, and only had bad service once....and it was really bad, just took a little longer then normal for the meal to come.

Maybe this thread will turn out like the Luke's Thread where somebody from the Londoner will see this and make changes. They obviously have a problem that needs to be fixed. I really want to like this place as I also like the beer selection and setup, but the service makes it impossible.

Luke's seems to have fixed their slow service problem.

Count me as another one. No, it isn't a 5 star experience, but it sure beats Applebees/Chilis.

The Londoner is not for eating. The Londoner is for drinking and watching Soccer. If you want to try all kinds of different brews and whiskey's, shoot a little pool, play foosball, and maybe watch some Premier League, Londoner is a great place. For a nice meal out with the family, the food's not great and neither is the service.

It appears the consensus is go somewhere else. Any recommendations.

i've had the bangers and mash from there, and they were pretty good. overpriced, but good. like someone else said, though, i think they've changed up their menu since the last time I went. the fish and chips was not very good last time I had it.

I've had several good experiences as well... but the couple of times where service was terrible seem to stick out more in my mind. Mostly it involved bigger sporting events though and they were woefully unprepared. Which is retarded given how much they advertise being a soccer bar.

I like it too. Probably been 10-15 times. A couple times the service was god awful, but most of the time, it's been fine. They have a good beer selection, cool atmosphere, and one of the best burgers in BR. Their fish and chips is awesome, and the steak and ale pie a favorite of mine. For the most part, our group really likes the place.

The sad part is that even out of this small sampling almost every single one of us have had at least one terrible experience and others have had several.

I just don't get it.

Usually we go to Le Creol, Stroubes or a resturaunt of that type when we don't have the kids. However, we really wanted to do something different.

which is precisely why I thought of trying the Londoner in the first place. However, we are only going to have about 3 hours to get there, enjoy ourselves and then go pick up the kids. I really don't want to spend that time pissed off becasue of an incompetent server.

ETA because of prematurely hitting the submit button

See, I've never had a problem with the service, but I don't go to sit down and eat and leave. I've been for OTGT's, going have beers with friends, someone's 21st birthday, etc.. that kind of stuff.

My issue was that I really just didn't like much they offered. I did see they changed the menu though.
